    When Ferrari set out to improve on their remarkable 458, the two stated and somewhat contradictory goals were to reduce drag and increase downforce. To that end, a few of the innovations incorporated into the 488’s design are the central Aero Pillar with F1-inspired double spoiler up front diverting air along and beneath the car, a vortex-generating aerodynamic underbody, a rear diffuser with variable flaps, and a Ferrari-patented rear spoiler. Not only did Ferrari succeed, but the result is unmistakably Ferrari. The aluminum bodywork on this example is finished in historical Grillo Extracampionario while additional options include 20” forged painted rims, yellow brake calipers for the carbon ceramic brakes, and Scuderia Ferrari shields just behind the front wheels. Daily driving is no problem since this Ferrari includes front and rear parking cameras and sensors, a suspension lift for the front end to navigate over speed bumps or steep driveways, and the optional AFS headlight system will confidently light your way through dark corners on your late night top-down drives.

  • Engine Description/Details: The 488 distinguishes itself from its 458 predecessor by incorporating twin-turbochargers rather than natural aspiration. The result is 661 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque from the 3.9-liter V8. And the new owner doesn’t need to worry about turbo lag either, as Ferrari states that the response time is a mere .8 of a second. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through the F1-style seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which Ferrari says is 30 percent faster on upshifts, and 40 percent faster on downshifts compared to the 458. 0-60 happens in 3.0 seconds flat, while the top speed is 202 — only 3 mph shy of the 488 GTB. Additionally, the Side Slip Angle Control and SCM3 magnetic suspension damping will ensure that you stay out of the gravel traps on track day.
