The 2017 Viper closed out twenty-five years of America's most uncompromising sports car. The fifth-generation car kept the formula intact to the end: an 8.4-liter naturally aspirated V10 rated at 645 hp, a six-speed manual as the only transmission, and no all-wheel-drive or hybrid concessions. Hand-assembled at Detroit's Conner Avenue plant, final-year cars — particularly the ACR — have become the definitive collector Vipers.

The 2017 model year
Viper production ended in August 2017 with the closure of the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant. Five farewell special editions — including the 1:28 Edition ACR, named for the car's Laguna Seca lap record — sold out almost immediately.
