The Cayman R sent off the 987 generation by stripping roughly 121 pounds from the Cayman S and adding 10 hp, with aluminum doors, lightweight buckets, and radio and air conditioning deleted unless requested back. It sits lower, steers quicker, and wears its Peridot Green launch livery as a period signature. It was the first Cayman built purely for the driving, and collectors have treated it accordingly.
