The 540C was the entry point to McLaren's Sports Series, running a 533-hp version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 in the same carbon MonoCell II as the 570S. It was never officially offered in the United States, so examples here arrived through import channels. Mechanically it gives up little to its siblings beyond wheel and suspension tune.
