The 2021 GT Black Series closed out the first-generation AMG GT with the most powerful AMG V8 fitted to a road car at its launch. Its M178 was rebuilt around a flat-plane crankshaft — unique to this car — producing 720 hp, and in November 2020 it set a 6:43.6 production-car lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. One model year, serious aerodynamics and a soundtrack unlike any other AMG make it the collector centerpiece of the C190 family.
