The Rapide realized an idea Aston Martin had sketched since the 1960s Lagonda Rapide: a genuine four-door with the proportions and V12 soul of a DB coupe. Built on a stretched VH platform with the naturally aspirated 5.9-liter V12 at 470 hp, it prioritized silhouette over rear headroom and made no apologies for it. Early cars carry a quiet distinction — they were assembled by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, the only Astons of the era built outside the UK.
