The F-Type S sharpened the original recipe with a 380-hp version of the 3.0-liter supercharged V6, adaptive dampers, a mechanical limited-slip differential, and an active exhaust that made a persuasive case all by itself. It sat in the sweet spot of the early range - usefully quicker than the base car, lighter over the nose than the V8. For many enthusiasts this remains the best-balanced first-generation F-Type.
