The SL65 AMG is the twelve-cylinder SL: a hand-built 6.0-liter biturbo V12 producing 738 lb-ft in every version, whether the 604-hp R230 or the 621-hp R231 that followed from 2013. It was always the low-volume choice above the SL63, built for effortless thrust rather than lap times. Mercedes no longer makes a V12 roadster, which secures the SL65's place in the story.
