The M235i introduced the 2 Series coupe with BMW's classic recipe intact: a 320-hp N55 turbocharged inline-six up front, rear-wheel drive, and an available manual gearbox in a body barely larger than the beloved E46. It was the first M Performance 2 Series and the direct ancestor of the M2.
