The 488 GTB brought turbocharging back to the mid-engined Ferrari berlinetta for the first time since the F40 era, its 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 661 horsepower with almost none of the lag that word implies. The engine collected International Engine of the Year honors repeatedly, and the chassis carried the 458's balance forward with substantially more force. It is the car that proved Ferrari could change induction philosophy without losing the plot.
