The SL450 is the renamed, facelifted successor to the SL400, arriving for 2017 with 362 hp and the nine-speed 9G-TRONIC gearbox. Standard AMG body styling sharpened the R231's look, addressing the pre-facelift car's soft front end. It carried the entry SL position through 2020, the final year of the generation.
