The Speedster is Porsche's recurring tribute to the low-windshield 356 of the 1950s: a shortened screen, a double-bubble tonneau, and deliberately limited production. The 997 version of 2011 drew on the Carrera GTS; the 991 car of 2019 carried the GT3's 4.0-liter and a manual gearbox. Each appears once per generation, if at all, which is precisely the point.
