The M550i xDrive slotted a twin-turbo 4.4L V8 into the G30 5 Series with all-wheel drive and none of the M5's visual volume. In later 523-hp form it was one of the great sleeper sedans of its era — within a step of the M5's pace at a fraction of the attention.
